Job Summary

MAG SOLVICS is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with solid hands-on expertise in SolidWorks to lead and support end-to-end design activities--from concept, 3D modeling, and detailing to manufacturing handoff and continuous improvement. This role is fully onsite at our Kinathukadavu facility.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, and manage 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, sheet metal, weldments). Prepare manufacturing drawings with proper GD&T, fits, tolerances, and surface finish specifications. Build and maintain structured BOMs; ensure drawing-to-BOM alignment and revision control. Execute engineering calculations and basic validations; support FEA checks where needed. Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement for DFM/DFA, cost optimization, and vendor feasibility. Drive ECN/ECR activities and maintain accurate design documentation. Support prototyping, trials, testing, and incorporate feedback for design improvements. Ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable industry norms/safety considerations. Participate in design reviews and cross-functional problem-solving.
Must-Have Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks: part, assembly, drawings; experience with sheet metal and weldments preferred. Good understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent), machining, fabrication, and standard tolerances. Experience generating manufacturing-ready drawings and structured BOMs. Working knowledge of materials, fasteners, and mechanisms.
Good to Have

Exposure to PDM/PLM (e.g., SolidWorks PDM) and revision control. Basic FEA/Simulation exposure (SolidWorks Simulation/Ansys). Knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics, gears, and machine design fundamentals. Experience with special purpose machines (SPM), test rigs, or industrial equipment. Familiarity with value engineering and cost reduction.
Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Clear written and verbal communication. Detail-oriented with ownership mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Ability to manage timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Work Arrangement

Onsite, Kinathukadavu, Tamil Nadu (no remote/hybrid).
