Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to manage and execute mechanical design activities across the product lifecycle--from concept development and feasibility assessment to final technical execution and production support. The role requires close coordination with production teams and cross-functional departments to develop tooling, jigs, fixtures, and product improvements that enhance operational efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Leadership & Collaboration

Provide technical support and guidance for mechanical design projects. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Marketing, and IT teams to integrate design solutions into manufacturing processes. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and clients to clarify technical requirements and resolve design issues. Work closely with shop floor teams to implement practical and manufacturable solutions.
2. Design, Analysis & Development

Conceptualize and design mechanical components and systems using reverse engineering techniques. Prepare technical drawings for spare parts, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and packaging components for existing and new equipment. Conduct feasibility studies and design analysis to validate performance and manufacturability. Propose innovative improvements based on industry trends and emerging technologies.
3. Documentation & Quality Control

Manage drawing release processes and item code generation. Prepare detailed engineering documentation and technical specifications in compliance with industry standards. Implement quality checks during design and manufacturing stages. Coordinate with Quality teams to resolve design-related manufacturing discrepancies.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

B.E. Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, preferably in tool or mechanical design.

Software Proficiency:

AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Technical Expertise:

Reverse engineering, tooling design, and preparation of jigs and fixture drawings.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively between engineering teams and shop floor operations.

On-time delivery of drawings and 3D models. Turnaround time for drawings and item code generation. Successful implementation of reverse-engineered components.
Quality & Accuracy

First-Time-Right design approval rate. Minimal manufacturing errors due to design inaccuracies. Compliance with ISO and internal quality standards.
Operational Support & Collaboration

Timely resolution of shop floor technical issues. Availability of tooling before production schedules. Effective cross-department collaboration.
Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

Reduction in material waste and production time through optimized designs. Implementation of design or process innovations improving productivity.
