Position Overview
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Laborithm LLP, you will be a key contributor in developing innovative, cost-efficient, and high-quality mechanical systems for industrial and workforce applications. You will design new products, optimize existing frameworks, and ensure compliance with global standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, modular solutions.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, design, model, and prepare drawings/documentation for new and revised mechanical systems.
Apply engineering rigor to ensure designs are cost-efficient and maximize performance margins.
Coordinate and oversee outsourced design projects with global partners.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications.
Manage and report on project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Conduct R&D testing of components and assemblies.
Develop proposals in 2D/3D using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent software.
Create installation instructions, technical manuals, and user guides.
Enter and maintain data in ERP systems (e.g., SyteLine): BOMs, labor routings, and product costing.
Support ISO validation of new and revised parts.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent professional experience (2-4 years).
Experience in Value Engineering (SAVE International certification a plus).
Professional competency such as E.I.T. preferred.
Background in product development and familiarity with APQP design strategy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; expert knowledge of SolidWorks required.
Experience with ERP systems
