We are hiring urgently for Mechanical Design Engineer full time position for Walnut Medical, Mohali.

Qualifications & Experience: B.Tech./Dip. Mechanical/ Production/Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical with 4-6 Years of relevant experience.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in plastic product casing design for moulds and sheet metal enclosures. The ideal candidate will ensure that designs are manufacturable, reliable, and meet high-quality industry standards. This role requires strong proficiency in CAD, an in-depth understanding of moulding processes, and the ability to translate innovative ideas into practical mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define specifications, drawings, and documentation requirements.

Design and develop plastic and sheet metal components ensuring manufacturability for injection moulding and sheet metal fabrication.

Apply DFM/DFA principles, ensuring proper drafts, shrinkage considerations, and feasibility for mass production.

Conduct mould flow analysis, shrinkage analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and structural validations to refine designs.

Generate 2D/3D designs, models, and technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Perform computer simulations and virtual testing to optimize performance and durability.

Read and interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.

Identify design bottlenecks, anticipate manufacturing issues, and provide solutions through root-cause analysis.

Contribute to design reviews, innovation discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical knowledge of plastics, sheet metal, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Expertise in injection mould design, draft analysis, shrinkage compensation, and flow analysis.

Proficiency in CAD tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD (2D/3D), and familiarity with

visualization/rendering tools.

Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to anticipate design/production

challenges.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, and client teams.

Project management capability to handle deadlines and deliverables.

Exposure to automotive electronics, consumer electronics, medical devices, appliances, or similar domains is preferred.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

3-7 years of experience in mechanical product design with focus on plastic enclosures and sheet metal parts.
