Job Description

We are seeking an experienced

Mechanical Design Engineer

with a background in the

transformer industry

to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing transformer components and enclosures, preparing fabrication drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design mechanical parts for

power and distribution transformers

, including

tank, core clamping structures, radiators, lifting arrangements, and bushings

. Develop

2D and 3D CAD models

using

AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo

. Prepare

fabrication drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation

. Prepare

customer submission drawings

including

Overall General Arrangement (OGA), foundation layout, HV/LV terminations, marshalling box wiring

, etc., in accordance with relevant

GTP (Guaranteed Technical Particulars)

. Work closely with the

electrical design, manufacturing, and quality teams

to ensure accurate implementation of design requirements. Apply knowledge of

mechanical standards (IS/IEC)

and

sheet metal/welded structure design

in transformer projects. Perform

tolerance analysis, stress analysis (manual or FEA), and material selection

. Participate in

technical reviews, cost optimization, and product improvement initiatives

. Ensure all designs comply with

industry safety, performance, and reliability standards

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in

Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent. Minimum

4 years of experience

in mechanical design; at least

4 year in the transformer manufacturing industry

is

mandatory

. Proficiency in

CAD software

like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar. Good knowledge of

transformer tank and component design

. Understanding of

manufacturing processes, welding, sheet metal, and machining

. Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with

IS/IEC transformer standards

. Experience in

design change management and cost reduction

. Knowledge of

PDM/PLM tools

Pay: ?60,000.00 - ?90,000.00 per month
