Job Summary

We seek a motivated

Mechanical Design Engineer

(fresher or with minimal experience) to assist in designing and developing mechanical components, primarily gears and gearboxes. You will work under senior engineers, using

AutoCAD

for 2D drafting and basic 3D modeling, ensuring designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Create and modify 2D drawings and basic 3D models of gears, gearboxes, and power transmission components using

AutoCAD

. Assist in preparing detailed engineering drawings. Support design for manufacturability (DFM) by collaborating with the production team to ensure feasible and cost-effective designs. Perform basic calculations for gear parameters (e.g., module, helix angle, load capacity) and tolerances. Help in prototyping, testing, and resolving design-related issues on the shop floor. Maintain drawing revisions, design records, and ensure compliance with company and industry standards. Learn and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in drawings. Contribute to custom designs for client-specific requirements in shaft mounted gears, worm gears, bevel gears, etc.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or Diploma with strong fundamentals) from a recognized institution.

Software Skills:

Proficiency in

AutoCAD

(2D drafting essential; basic 3D knowledge preferred). Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar tools is a plus but not mandatory--we will provide training.

Technical Knowledge:

Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, gears (spur, helical, worm, bevel), manufacturing processes, and materials (alloy steels, cast iron, etc.).

Soft Skills:

Strong learning attitude, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and good communication skills.

Other:

Eagerness to work in a manufacturing environment; willingness to visit the shop floor for hands-on learning.
