Job Description

Preparing machines, work pieces, and auxiliaries for assembly Using hand tools, portable power tools, and machine tools to assemble parts Checking the quality of the work piece using measuring equipment Inspecting the final product Ensuring that the material required is procured before starting the process Cleaning and checking the tools and equipment used
Other responsibilities of an assembly fitter include:

Reading and understanding technical manuals, instructions, and warnings Following health and safety practices at the workplace Coordinating with co-workers to achieve work efficiency Analyzing blueprints for mechanical systems Constructing structural components from raw materials Using welding equipment to fuse structural components Creating a suitable maintenance schedule Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems Replacing damaged or defective structural components
