Job Title: Senior Mechanic - JBM Buses

Job Purpose:



To ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of JBM buses, minimizing vehicle downtime and maximizing operational efficiency through technical expertise and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance



Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) of JBM buses as per OEM standards. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in low-floor and electric JBM buses. Perform corrective actions and repairs to ensure vehicle readiness and reliability.

2. Breakdown & Roadside Assistance



Attend on-road breakdowns and ensure quick resolution to minimize vehicle off-road time. Troubleshoot and escalate complex issues to Technical Leads or OEM support if needed.

3. Inspection & Documentation



Conduct daily/periodic inspections as per the maintenance schedule. Maintain accurate records of repairs, spare parts used, service logs, and downtime reports.

4. Team Supervision & Training



Guide junior mechanics and technicians in diagnostics and repair practices. Provide on-the-job training and share technical knowledge on new updates from JBM or other OEMs.

5. Safety & Compliance



Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with organizational SOPs and local regulatory requirements. Report any hazardous conditions or potential safety issues.

6. Coordination & Reporting



Liaise with the Stores and Purchase team for timely availability of required spare parts. Update Maintenance Managers on major repairs, recurring issues, or vehicle performance anomalies.

Required Skills and Competencies:



Technical Proficiency:

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electric drivetrains, air suspension, CAN communication, and vehicle control systems used in JBM buses.

Diagnostics Tools:

Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software (JBM Scan Tools, OBD Scanners, etc.).

Problem-Solving:

Ability to diagnose root causes and implement timely and effective repair solutions.

Leadership:

Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.

Communication:

Basic verbal and written communication skills for reporting and team coordination.

Educational Qualifications:



ITI / Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Additional certification from JBM or similar OEM training preferred

Experience:



Minimum

5-7 years

of relevant hands-on experience, including

2+ years

working specifically on

JBM buses

or similar OEM low-floor/electric buses.

Working Conditions:



Willingness to work in rotating shifts and during weekends/public holidays as per operational needs.
Physical stamina to work in field and workshop environments, sometimes under adverse weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
