Job Title: Automobile Mechanic
Job Summary:
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in automobiles, trucks, and other vehicles. Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic and Repair:
Diagnose problems using testing equipment and technical manuals.
Identify and replace faulty parts.
Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems.
Maintenance:
Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks.
Check and maintain fluid levels (e.g., transmission, brake, coolant).
Replace air filters, belts, and hoses as needed.
Safety and Quality:
Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
Conduct test drives to verify repairs.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Customer Service:
Communicate repair needs and estimates to customers.
Provide advice on vehicle maintenance and repair.
Ensure customer satisfaction with work performed.
Administrative:
Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
Order parts and supplies as needed.
Stay up-to-date with manufacturer recalls and technical bulletins.
Physical Demands:
Lift and move heavy tools and equipment.
Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing, bending, and crawling.
Exposure to hazardous materials and loud noises.
