Job Description

An MD Pathologist's responsibilities include diagnosing diseases by analyzing tissue and bodily fluid samples, conducting laboratory tests, writing comprehensive pathology reports, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to guide treatment plans. Diagnosis:

Examine and analyze tissue, blood, cells, and other bodily specimens to identify the presence and type of disease.

Laboratory Testing:

Perform various laboratory tests, including microscopic analysis and molecular/genetic assays, to detect abnormalities and diseases.

Reporting:

Document findings in detailed pathology reports, outlining diagnoses and providing diagnostic information to other medical teams.

Collaboration:

Work closely with physicians and healthcare teams to provide diagnostic insights, interpret results, and help develop effective treatment plans.

Autopsies:

Conduct autopsies to determine the cause of death and document findings accurately, which can also assist in legal investigations.

Research:

Engage in research activities and stay informed about new diagnostic methods and advancements in pathology to improve practice.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure compliance with all laboratory standards, safety guidelines, and relevant medical laws and regulations.

Leadership:

Supervise and train laboratory staff, manage workload, and take on managerial duties within a clinical lab setting.
