Position Description: Medicines Development Information and Digital Solutions (MD IDS) serves as a strategic function within Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) partnering with the Medicines Development Unit (MDU). The MDU focuses on taking potential marketable products from Research through product registration and approval. MD IDS focuses on the MDU business needs of the future, enabling improvements through information and technology solutions. The teams define and influence information and business strategies, design and develop solutions to achieve the strategic outcomes, and ensure reliable deployment and support of these solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business and Global Infra IT teams to develop new business applications based on the modern stack as well as modernizing existing applications.
• Create reusable design patterns and code modules to support consistent and productive implementation of new technologies into Lilly\xe2\x80\x99s custom developed apps.
• Research and engage in Proof-Of-Concept (POC) activities related to technologies new to Lilly\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio.
• Seeks opportunities to reuse existing processes and services to streamline support and implementation of key systems.
• Stay abreast of tools and technologies to influence IT strategy so that it provides best usage opportunities for business
• Partner with and influence vendor resources on solution development to ensure understanding of data and technical direction for solutions as well as delivery
• Ability to adapt quickly in a constantly changing environment

Required Experience: Proven experience with the following:

• 5+ years of hands on experience in development and deployment of cloud native solutions leveraging AWS Services: Compute (EC2, Lambda), Storage (S3), Database (RDS, Aurora, Postgres, DynamoDB), Orchestration (Apache Airflow, Step Function, SNS), ETL/Analytics (Glue, Athena, Redshift), Infra (Cloud Formation, Code Pipeline), Data Migration (AWS DataSync, AWS DMS), APIGateway, IAM, SQS etc.
• 3+ years of hands-on application development experience in programming languages like JavaScript, Nodejs, Java-backend, Python, etc.
• 2+ years of hands-on development experience on Microservices, API and Data movement (MQ, Apache ActiveMQ, Streaming, file based etc.)
• Cloud Filesystem exposure
• Understanding of asynchronous request handling, promises, and a synch-await
• Experience with back-end frameworks including Express.js and Passport.js
• Familiarity with build tools such as Gulp
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Mocha
• Understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience working with GitHub and understanding of branching strategies
• Experience with continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment processes
• Experience with application interface security and data security models.
• Knowledge of 12-Factor Application Development Methodology

Additional Preferred Requirements:

• Data services such as Postgres, Redis, Cassandra/Mongo
• Queuing services such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
• API and Microservice concepts such as Swagger and Microservice Discovery
• Authentication/Identity concepts such as oAuth flows and OpenID Connect
• Elasticsearch

• React and React Native or Vue.JS
• Experience working in regulated environments and with internal systems quality policies and procedures
• Experience in working in Scrum - agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes.
• Knowledge of the data architectures associated with information integration.

• Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
