Job Description

The Primary School Math Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematics to students in grades [insert grade levels], ensuring they develop a strong foundation in math concepts and problem-solving skills. The teacher will create a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:



Instruction and Teaching:

Plan and deliver effective math lessons that align with the curriculum standards. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, discussions, and technology integration, to engage students. Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Provide individualized support to students who need additional help. Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and collaboration.

Curriculum Development:

Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine math curriculum. Incorporate real-world applications of math to make learning relevant and meaningful. Stay updated on current best practices in math education.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Prepare and administer quizzes, tests, and assignments to assess student understanding. Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress. Provide timely feedback to students and parents on academic performance. Use data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement.

Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain classroom routines that support effective learning. Address any behavioral issues promptly and in accordance with school policies. Promote a safe and respectful classroom environment.

Communication:

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school meetings as required. Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and school administration to support student success.

Professional Development:

Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to stay current with educational trends and teaching strategies. Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall improvement of the school.

Other Duties:

Supervise students during non-classroom times (e.g., recess, lunch). Participate in extracurricular activities and school events. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.

Certification:

Valid teaching certification or license in elementary education (with a focus on mathematics, if applicable).

Experience:

Prior teaching experience at the primary school level is preferred.

Skills:

Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and pedagogy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Proficiency in using technology as a teaching tool. Strong organizational and classroom management skills.

Working Conditions:
