Seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead procurement, inventory, and stores operations for fabrication/manufacturing environments. The role involves managing a team, ensuring timely material availability, optimizing costs, and supporting production with strong planning and supply chain strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage procurement of raw materials, consumables, and project-specific items.
Develop supplier relationships and negotiate cost, quality, and delivery terms.
Oversee stores and warehouse operations with strong inventory control practices.
Implement min/max levels, cycle counts & global procurement strategies.
Coordinate with production/engineering teams to align material readiness with schedules.
Ensure material traceability, compliance, and adherence to HSE requirements.
Lead a team of 10 and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor's in Supply Chain/Business/Engineering (preferred).
10-15 years' experience in materials management within fabrication/EPC/heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of steel, piping, valves, fittings & other fabrication materials.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and inventory optimization.
Strong leadership, negotiation & analytical skills.
