Project Development Planner is responsible for activities related to materials planning and management for Product development projects for different regions. Works as part of a cross-functional global team, interacting with individual team members and managers across different regions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Purchasing and logistics of all materials required for Engineering prototyping and pre-production at Worldwide Engineering location.
  • Manage logistics of prototype and pre-production products.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to review and establish material availability dates for Project requirements.
  • Manage material planning and procurement for all project builds for engineering prototype, and engineering pilot and assist in NPI pilot procurement when it makes sense to compress schedules.
  • Secure material for all builds in a work order or kit format, give priority calls to suppliers where conflicts occur, and follow up on material deliveries from suppliers
  • Identify the Long lead time material at the project's early stage and assist the Project manager to do the material plan accordingly.
  • Resolves problems with inventory or material shortages through review of SAP system and transaction documentation.
  • Takes action in SAP as a result of Engineering Change Notices, scrap, etc, and adjusts pending work orders and inventory accordingly
  • Maintains and manages required Material Masters attributes and settings in SAP related to project-involved materials portfolio
Traveling may be required

SKILLS REQUIRED

Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience in material planning or procurement, setting up new material planning process is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of (SAP) for material planning and control.
  • Experience working with suppliers including plastic, casting, plastic molding, machining parts, packaging, etc. is preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people of all cultures
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel
