Job Description

Responsible for managing Vayhan's roasting operations, ensuring consistent production of roasted beans and roast & ground (R&G) coffee to meet diverse B2B customer requirements. This role requires both technical expertise in roasting and grinding and a strong sensory understanding of coffee to create blends that deliver on flavour, aroma and quality expectations.

Strong knowledge of coffee chemistry and roasting science Proven operational experience with Probat automatic roasters.

Proficiency in grinding, degassing and packaging processes.

Ability to design and replicate roast profiles consistently.

Expertise in cupping, sensory evaluation and barista techniques.

Capability to create and test flavoured coffee variants.

Competence in matching competitor blends (e.g., high-aroma South Indian R&G coffee).

Key Responsibilities :

Operate and manage automatic Probat roasters and associated equipment. Develop and maintain roast profiles tailored to different customer requirements (cafes, restaurants, caterers, chains, offices). Conduct green bean quality assessment including physical, moisture and sensory checks before roasting. Execute grinding and degassing processes to industry standards. Maintain records of roast batches, parameters and quality control data. Collaborate with the product development team to design custom blends (R&G and beans) for B2B clients. Develop and produce flavoured coffees as per market demand. Conduct cupping sessions and ensure alignment with desired sensory outcomes. Provide technical support to the business team by helping match competitor profiles (e.g., filter coffee blends, vending blends, specialty commercial profiles). Assist in training baristas or B2B customers on brew methods for optimal extraction. Maintain cleanliness, safety and operational standards of roasting facility.
