They are responsible for understanding the market, attracting the right customers, and converting interest into sales while aligning marketing efforts with business goals.
Roles and responsibilities : -
1. Strategy & Planning
Develop the "overall marketing strategy" aligned with company vision and revenue targets
Identify target markets, customer segments, and buyer personas.
Decide marketing mix: product, price, place, promotion (4Ps)
Plan annual and quarterly marketing calendars.
2. Brand Management
Build and maintain a strong, consistent brand identity.
Ensure uniform messaging across all platforms (digital, print, on-ground)
Position the brand clearly against competitors
Protect brand reputation and credibility
3. Lead Generation & Revenue Support
Generate qualified leads for the sales team
Design and manage campaigns (digital ads, email, events, referrals)
Work closely with sales to improve conversion rates.
Track cost per lead (CPL) and return on marketing investment (ROMI)
4. Digital & Offline Marketing Execution
Manage:
Website & SEO
Social media marketing
Google/Facebook ads
Content marketing (blogs, videos, case studies)
Plan offline marketing:
Print ads, hoardings, exhibitions, events
Partnerships and local promotions
5. Market Research & Customer Insights
Study customer needs, pain points, and behavior
Monitor competitors, pricing, and offers
Collect and analyze customer feedback
Identify new market opportunities and trends
6. Budgeting & Performance Tracking
Prepare and manage the marketing budget
Track KPIs such as:
Leads generated
Conversion rate
Customer acquisition cost (CAC)
Brand reach and engagement
Optimize campaigns based on data
7. Team & Vendor Management
Lead and coordinate:
Internal marketing team
External agencies, designers, freelancers
Assign targets and ensure timely delivery
Train team members and improve productivity
8. Product / Service Promotion
Support new product or service launches
Create value propositions and promotional material
Align marketing messaging with customer expectations
9. Customer Relationship & Retention
Design loyalty and retention programs
Improve repeat business and referrals
Strengthen long-term customer relationships
