: Marine & Ship Construction Quality Control Officer

Job Summary:
DeStaco Turnkey Solutions is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Quality Control Officer with 3-5 years of experience in the marine and ship construction industry to ensure that all vessel fabrication, ship repair, structural modification, and outfitting activities comply with applicable quality standards, class rules, project specifications, and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor QC procedures for shipbuilding and marine projects, including:
Hull fabrication & structural works
Outfitting & accommodation works
Piping & mechanical installations
Machinery alignment & testing
Ship repair & retrofitting tasks
Conduct inspections and verifications as per approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project specifications.
Ensure compliance with marine standards, class society requirements (ABS, DNV, BV, IRS, RINA, etc.), flag-state rules, and client specifications.
Coordinate with engineering, production, project, and planning teams to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
Identify non-conformities (NCs), raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Ensure quality documentation, inspection logs, material traceability records, and welding inspection records are maintained.
Liaise with clients, class surveyors, ship superintendents, and third-party inspectors during audits and inspection stages.
Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Promote a quality-first culture within workshops and vessel construction/repair berths.
Ensure adherence to company QA/QC systems, HSE standards, and ISO compliance requirements.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture / Shipbuilding / Industrial Engineering or related field.
3 to 5 years QC experience in ship construction, ship repair, marine fabrication, offshore engineering, or shipyard operations.
Knowledge of marine fabrication techniques, welding processes, NDT, piping systems, outfitting standards, and documentation.
Familiarity with class society rules (ABS, DNV, BV, IRS, RINA, LR, etc.) is an added advantage.
Understanding of statutory & regulatory marine standards (flag state, port state, IMO, IACS--preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and inspection accuracy.
Good communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently and manage field inspections.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CAD or shipyard QC software is a plus.
Willingness to work in shipyard environments, dry docks, and onboard vessels when required.
