Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Marine Mechanic

to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems on marine vessels. The ideal candidate will ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect and diagnose faults in marine engines, propulsion, and auxiliary systems Perform maintenance and repairs on inboard, outboard, and stern-drive engines Service fuel, cooling, exhaust, and lubrication systems Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems onboard vessels Maintain steering, transmission, and propulsion systems Conduct preventive maintenance and seasonal servicing Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports Communicate technical issues and repair recommendations to clients or supervisors Work collaboratively with marine engineers, electricians, and shipyard personnel

Qualifications & Requirements

Diploma or certification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or similar role Strong knowledge of marine diesel and gasoline engines Ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams Familiarity with maritime safety standards and regulations Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills Physically fit and comfortable working in marine environments

Preferred Skills

Experience with modern diagnostic tools and marine electronics Knowledge of hydraulic systems and onboard auxiliary equipment Excellent communication and teamwork skills
