: Manufacturing Operations Manager - Signage Industry

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the setup and operations of our upcoming signage manufacturing facility. The role involves planning and executing the entire manufacturing setup -- including layout design, machine installation, vendor coordination, and team building -- followed by smooth management of daily production, quality, and timelines. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in signage, fabrication, or allied industries, and be capable of establishing a production system that delivers high-quality custom signage, lighting, and display solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. Manufacturing Setup & Facility Establishment

- Lead the complete setup of the signage manufacturing facility -- including layout planning, machinery selection, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams for timely execution.
- Set up workstations for metal fabrication, acrylic processing, vinyl printing, painting, and assembly areas.
- Define production flow and optimize shop floor layout for efficiency and safety.
- Ensure factory compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental norms (Factory Act, MPCB, etc.).

2. 2. Production & Operations Management

- Oversee daily production operations including fabrication, painting, printing, assembly, and dispatch.
- Implement production schedules based on project timelines and client requirements.
- Monitor output, resource utilization, material consumption, and wastage control.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of machines like CNC routers, laser cutters, channel letter benders, printers, and paint booths.
- Coordinate closely with design, procurement, and installation teams for seamless workflow.

3. 3. Process Development & Quality Control

- Develop SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards for each production process.
- Implement quality checks at every stage to ensure precision and finish.
- Introduce lean manufacturing and 5S systems for workplace organization and efficiency.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce rework and improve turnaround time.

4. 4. Team Leadership & Training

- Recruit, train, and manage supervisors, fabricators, technicians, and helpers across departments.
- Define KPIs and performance standards for production and support teams.
- Build a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to operational discipline on the shop floor.

5. 5. Vendor & Facility Management

- Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, maintenance vendors, and raw material partners.
- Oversee facility management -- utilities, housekeeping, waste management, and AMC coordination.
- Support the procurement team with vendor evaluation, negotiation, and timely material availability.

Qualifications & Experience

- Graduate / Postgraduate in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering, or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3-5 years in signage or fabrication industry.
- Hands-on experience in factory setup, machinery commissioning, and production management.
- Strong knowledge of metal, acrylic, and vinyl fabrication processes, as well as LED and electrical integration.
- Experience working with machinery such as CNC routers, laser cutters, printers, and bending machines.
- Familiarity with ERP/production tracking systems (Zoho, SAP, etc.) preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
