This role is part of Alcon's Information Technology function, a team that delivers cutting-edge technology solutions to Alcon associates and customers to help our people and the world see brilliantly.The Sr. Associate I, Software Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for designing and developing software solutions by applying technical expertise and collaborating with other engineers.

• Design and implement software solutions based on requirements
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high-quality code standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues promptly
• Build technical expertise and develop problem-solving skills
• Contribute to software development projects, ensuring solutions meet business and technical requirements
• Make decisions on design and implementation within assigned tasks, working under the guidance of senior engineers for complex decisionsAll associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. • Power BI Dashboarding (Advanced)
• Power BI Report Builder (Advanced)
• Power BI Service (Advanced)
• SQL (Oracle and SQL Server) (Intermediate)
• Data Modelling (Advanced)

Responsibilities:

• Visualization / Dashboards - Creating interactive dashboards and reports that translate business requirements into insightful visualizations and ongoing enhancement support within IT Quality

• Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Translate business needs into data models and visual insights.
• Expertise in DAX, Power Query and SQL for data modeling and transformation.
• Utilize current processes and tools (Power BI Desktop) to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Document and address issues identified through established change management processes.
• Actively participate in and/or lead continuous improvement activities, defining and implementing the changes required to extend electronic data management and analytics capabilities.

• Report Builder - Build Power BI reports using Power BI Report builder based on the business needs

• Develop and maintain paginated report for pixel-perfect, printable reporting.
• Ensure the reports are fast, scalable and user-friendly. And the reports load efficiently and optimize queries for high performance.
• Optimize large dataset handling and ensure high performance for enterprise reporting.
• Proficient in working with SQL and complex queries - Joins.

• Version Control & DevOps

• Manage Power BI projects and artifacts using Git repositories.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for Power BI deployment

• Project Collaboration - work with business and IT stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business transformation.

• Participate in design reviews and provide input to design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow and understand and comply with Agile Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning/execution steps.
• Document detailed application specifications (User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications and System Design Specifications), translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules.
• Collaborate with business users and data teams to gather and clarify requirements.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• A Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
• A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Data Analytics and Power BI developer role.
• Knowledge in Pharma industry, medical device, and GxP validation preferred
• Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using Power BI dashboards and Paginated reports.
• Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps Pipeline
• Experience with object-oriented/object function languages: SQL, Python.
• Excellent analytical skills, troubleshooting and abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and facilitation skills
• Ability to multi-task; ability to think outside the box and develop intuitive and creative solutions
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written; proven ability in technical writing
• Demonstrated experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Demonstrated experience working with a project team to develop a design, technical solution, and ultimately to implement high quality technical solutions
• Proven ability overseeing Deployment and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff
• Experience in handling large volume of data preferred.
• Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
