OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
  • Manage Manufacturing Engineering during serial phase of the product.
  • Ensure the process is designed and implemented in line with the industrial requirements and the QCD objectives of the project.
  • Is the main industrialization contact for all other functions of the project, and thus represent PME department for the Looms and Cubicles line.
During specification and preliminary design phases:
  • Bring ideas to the Process Engineer or the PIM to guide product definition in order to improve the product manufacturability and achieve QCD targets.
  • Participate to the product design reviews when required.
  • Estimate Method Time..
During detailed design phase and before Serial Go:
  • Participate to P-FMEA.
  • Participate to validation of prototypes if any.
  • Request tooling when needed and write tooling specifications.
  • Depending on the domain: perform ERP routings, Work Instructions, Inspection Instructions, And this ensuring good EHS and ergonomic conditions.
  • Perform work stations task sequencing.
  • Validate product design and industrialization through FAR and FAI.
  • Calculate precise Method Time.
After serial Go:
  • Industrialize retrofit after engineering changes: Routings, Work Instructions, and tooling.
  • Support Production to achieve manufacturing QCD targets.
  • Participate to continuous improvement workshops. (Ex: SWIP)
  • Contribute to industrial REX on manufacturing processes.
Other activities:
  • Contributes to industrial costing during
  • Perform industrial REX on manufacturing processes.
Qualifications and Skills

Education:
  • BE/ME in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Proficient in English - Read, Write and Speak
  • Familiar with Microsoft excel, Powerpoint and Common IT Tools
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
  • Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering background with Minimum 6 to 10 years of Industrial experience preferably in Auto or railway industry / Wiring Harness.
  • Experience in General Assembly process. Electrical harness assembly is preferred.
  • Technical experience of Process Engineering, developing manufacturing work instructions, line balancing.
  • Knowledge of Jigs and Fixture Design/Manufacturing
  • Productivity improvement and Cost saving techniques
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma tools (Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Professionals Preferred)
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration followup
  • Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics
  • Familiar with IT common tools.
  • Process FMEA, 8D/ QRQC.
EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET
  • Experience in Manufacturing / Manufacturing Engineering, Fixture design and Poka Yoke Implementation : 6 to 10 Year
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
