As a Manual Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications by manually executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Design
: Analyze software requirements and create detailed test plans and test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of functionalities.
Test Execution
: Manually execute test cases on various platforms, including web and mobile applications, to identify defects and ensure software behaves as expected.
Defect Identification & Reporting
: Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools like Jira or Bugzilla, providing detailed steps to reproduce and relevant information.
Regression Testing
: Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
Collaboration
: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Documentation & Reporting
: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and any relevant testing artifacts, and provide regular updates on testing progress and outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Background
: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
: 2+ years of experience in manual software testing.
Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in creating clear and comprehensive test cases.
Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools like Jira, Bugzilla, TestRail, or HP ALM.
Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
Experience using tools like Postman or SoapUI for API testing.
Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and mobile operating systems (iOS, Android).
Ability to use browser developer tools for debugging
