A Manual Tester is responsible for validating software quality by manually executing test scenarios, identifying defects, and ensuring the application works as expected according to requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Understand project requirements, user stories, and workflows.
Create well-structured
test scenarios
,
test cases
, and
test data
manually.
Execute test cases manually and document results.
Identify deviations, errors, and defects during testing.
Report issues clearly to developers using simple documentation (Excel/Sheets).
Re-test fixes and validate resolved issues.
Ensure application behavior is consistent across screens, flows, and devices.
Participate in requirement discussions and provide feedback from a testing standpoint.
Maintain manual test documentation (Test Cases, Test Reports, Bug Reports).
Required Skills
Solid understanding of
SDLC
and
STLC
.
Strong knowledge of manual test design techniques.
Ability to write clear and understandable test cases manually.
Good logical and analytical thinking.
Keen attention to detail for identifying UI and functional issues.
Basic understanding of web/mobile applications.
Ability to use Excel or Google Sheets for documentation.
