Manual + Automation Test Engineer

Experience: 6-9 years

Domain Preference: Manufacturing-focused solutions/products or ERP

Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Model: Hybrid (1-2 on-site days per fortnight) -- Pune or nearby (within 50-75 km)

Shift Timing: 11:00 AM-8:00 PM IST or 11:30 AM-8:30 PM IST

Interview Process: 1 internal technical interview (Google Meet, video) + 1-2 client interviews with screen sharing (MS Teams, video) + background verification

Equipment & Connectivity: Laptop (Intel i7 11th Gen+ at ~3.0 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD/500 GB HDD, Windows 11) and reliable high?bandwidth internet (mandatory)

Role summary

We're looking for a seasoned QA professional who is strong in both manual and automation testing. You will help drive an automation?first approach using Selenium (Java), while continuing to deliver high?quality manual testing for complex business scenarios. The ideal candidate brings domain exposure in manufacturing/ERP, solid SQL/data validation skills, and hands?on experience with Selenium WebDriver and JMeter.

Key responsibilities

Execute both manual and automated testing across functional, regression, sanity, smoke, and performance scopes

Help pivot the team toward a primarily automated testing strategy; prioritize test cases for automation and contribute robust scripts

Write, maintain, and execute test scripts independently (medium to high complexity) using Selenium (Java)

Contribute to code reviews of test automation, debug scripts, and optimize frameworks

Perform API testing and automation (e.g., Postman) and integrate into regression suites where applicable

Design test plans, test cases, and traceability to business and technical requirements; ensure comprehensive coverage

Perform exploratory testing to uncover defects beyond primary use cases

Conduct performance testing using JMeter; interpret results and recommend tuning

Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Quality teams to plan tests, align on acceptance criteria, and enforce quality gates

Serve as test lead/point of contact when needed: provide estimates, communicate plans, report metrics, and run audits/reviews for quality compliance

Mentor junior test engineers and act as a product SME over time

Perform data analysis and verification using SQL; support defect triage and root?cause analysis

Track/report team and project QA metrics; maintain clear testing documentation and Confluence pages

Required skills & experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

6-9 years of hands?on software testing (manual + automation) with end?to?end product release experience

Strong Selenium WebDriver (Java) experience, including framework understanding, robust scripting, and execution

Solid Java and JVM fundamentals; good grasp of OOP in test automation contexts

Experience with JMeter for performance testing

Strong SQL skills for data validation; good understanding of relational database concepts

Experience producing test deliverables (test plans, cases, scripts, reports) for manual and automated testing

Familiarity with defect/test management tools (e.g., JIRA/Confluence); exposure to qTest Manager is an advantage

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with onshore/offshore teams and operate in fast?paced environments

Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills; strong analytical/problem?solving abilities

Nice to have

ERP or manufacturing domain testing experience

API automation pipeline integration (e.g., Newman/CLI runs from Postman collections)

Knowledge of CI integration for test runs and reporting

Experience with test data management and environment orchestration
