Role Overview:

We are looking for a talented and imaginative

Manga Character Artist

to design and illustrate compelling characters for our manga projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of anatomy, expression, and manga-style aesthetics, and the ability to bring characters to life with personality and emotion.

Key Responsibilities:

Create

original manga-style character designs

based on scripts, concepts, or creative briefs. Develop

character sheets

including expressions, poses, outfits, and turnarounds. Collaborate with writers and directors to ensure characters reflect the story's tone and personality. Assist in refining and finalizing

line art, inking, and screen tones

for characters. Maintain consistency of

style, proportion, and details

across panels and chapters. Work closely with background artists and panelers to ensure seamless integration of characters into scenes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong drawing and illustration skills with a focus on

manga/anime styles

. Proficiency in digital art tools such as

Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, or Procreate

. Solid understanding of

anatomy, proportions, facial expressions, and gestures

. Creativity in developing unique, memorable, and expressive character designs. Ability to adapt to different art styles if required by the project. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in

manga/comic illustration or character design

. Knowledge of

Japanese manga aesthetics and paneling traditions

. Experience with

inking, shading, and screentone application

. Portfolio showcasing

manga/anime-style characters
