About this Role
As an IT Operations Specialist - Process & Networking, you will be responsible for the secure and efficient delivery of firewall rules across global (GIANT) and local (Secure Change) sites within the VFCZ IT environment. This includes routing validation, rule testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with GIANT guidance. The role also involves documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement of firewall rule processes, while aligning with security standards and operational requirements.
Who are you
You are a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with a strong foundation in firewall rule management and network routing. You bring over five years of experience in network security or infrastructure operations, and you are proficient in using rule management tools such as GIANT and Secure Change. You are committed to maintaining high standards of compliance and documentation, and you thrive in cross-functional environments.
What you will do

  • Deliver and validate firewall rules for both global (GIANT) and local (Secure Change) environments.
  • Perform routing checks and raise requests to resolve potential network issues.
  • Test firewall rules and troubleshoot connectivity or access problems.
  • Define and maintain GIANT guidance for rule creation and governance.
  • Regularly review and clean up GIANT configurations based on defined standards.
  • Document rule changes, approvals, and implementation steps.
  • Generate reports on rule delivery status, exceptions, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure rule accuracy and relevance.
  • Use relevant tools and platforms required for GIANT rule delivery and validation.
What skills you need
  • Strong understanding of firewall rule management and network routing principles.
  • Experience with GIANT and Secure Change platforms or similar global rule delivery systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot firewall-related issues across complex environments.
  • Familiarity with rule testing methodologies and validation workflows.
  • Knowledge of network security standards and compliance practices.
  • Experience in documenting technical processes and generating operational reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in firewall rule delivery, network security or infrastructure operations.
  • Proficiency in routing protocols, firewall technologies and rule testing procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply security policies in rule creation.
