Our organization helps our international businesses manage risk, respond to new regulation, and develop new products whilst nurturing effective partnerships across multiple key stakeholders. The organisation also leads an enterprise-wide International Financial Crimes Transformation program and is building an international first line privacy function designed to strengthen our enterprise-wide controls around privacy and information protection.
Financial crime risk management is a critical mission for American Express. The Financial Crime Risk management team’s core principles is to build robust controls and governance by applying a risk-based approach, building adaptable and scalable enterprise level capabilities, automate processes, provide a high-quality customer experience, and foster coordination across 1st and 2nd line of defence.
Within Financial crime risk management, Team is looking to recruit a Manager to support the India Task Force team, including delivering on Know your Customer (KYC) activities and other AML obligations.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right talent with a passion in process and operations management to join our team.
Reporting to the Director, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support in onboarding new colleagues in the team and build expertise in financial risk management and KYC related processes
  • Lead daily operations and processes with near term focus on KYC related processes at onboarding and refresh across all ICS markets and businesses
  • Lead delivery of initiatives, driving visibility in program health & progress
  • Manage proprietary and outsourced resources
  • Responsible for driving productivity, operational efficiency and maintaining quality
  • Drive colleague engagement and motivation by timely and effective communication
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders as required to follow up on projects key deliveries
  • Coordinate the collaboration with all relevant AXP teams across all lines of defense
  • Communicate concisely and effectively to the senior leadership, including preparation of dashboards, MIS’s
  • Ensure 100% focus on compliance

Key Skills Required:
  • Operational experience in setting up new team and experience in managing large teams
  • Results orientated (Setting Priorities, Taking Accountability)
  • Proven track record to coach proprietary and third-party resources with strict focus on compliance
  • Manage third parties, with focus on information security and related aspects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to navigate internal and external stakeholder landscapes
  • Excellent presentation & communication skills across all levels
  • Knowledge of digital tools for automation etc.
