The Manager position is part of the Global Regulatory Exam Lifecycle Management (RELM) team in Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) and reports to the Director of the Regulatory Exam Management Professional Practices team within RELM.
RELM supports the end-to-end lifecycle of regulatory exams, ongoing supervision, and remediation of regulatory findings - responsibilities that are central to the safety and soundness of American Express.
The Professional Practices team, within RELM, focuses on supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions and workflow used throughout the exam lifecycle, including associated procedures and training. The team also conducts quality assurance review of deliverables created throughout the finding remediation process, including Management responses, action plans, and exam closure packages, prior to submission to the regulators. In addition, the team analyzes regulatory exam and finding data for themes and trends to support organizational exam readiness and early self-identification of potential issues, as appropriate.
The Manager will be part of the Professional Practices team, within RELM, and will help lead the RELM Professional Practices team in India. This includes all responsibilities of the Professional Practices team outlined above.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Assisting with the optimization, automation, and maintenance of workflow and processes that facilitate the management of the exam lifecycle and regulatory inquires
Assisting in developing "best practice" communications process and maintaining high quality templates for communications to the regulators and management
Overseeing and providing quality assurance of communications to the regulators and management during the examination process, in particular the remediation phase of the exam
Overseeing and providing analysis of regulatory exams, findings, and inquires to identify themes and trends that would alert American Express to potential exams and additional inquires
Supervising analyst(s) in their day-to-day work within the RELM Professional Practices team based in India
Minimum Qualifications:
Operational experience in exam management, regulatory affairs, risk management, and / or operations risk / compliance
Ability to successfully collaborate with colleges globally and build strong, sustainable working relationships
Experience analyzing and optimizing processes and workflows
Excellent communication skills, particularly written communications for outside authorities
Experience with data analytics including solid experience with Microsoft tools and analytical tools
Strong experience developing analytical reports with clear findings and messages
Ability to work independently as well as with others and manage others
Experience with a large, U.S. financial services company is a plus
