Job Description

Munich Re India Branch is responsible to develop and manage the Agriculture reinsurance business in the Asian region in line with overall Munich Re\'s global business strategy.

The position will be responsible for the development of tech tools that would help in building a sustainable and profitable agricultural reinsurance portfolio in India and other Asian countries. The position is also responsible for the maintenance of existing tech tools as well as the development of new tools as per the market and clients\' requirements. The role will also coordinate all aspects of IT, including coordination with central and regional IT teams. The ability to quickly understand a new business requirement and to position it within the Munich Re business model is key.

Engagement with the clients, government representatives, and other external agencies and alignment with the internal cross-functional teams of Underwriters, IT team, and Finance is a key element of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of technology solutions for agriculture insurance portfolio
• Development of GIS and weather data solutions for crop health monitoring and yield forecasting
• Development and maintenance of mobile applications to support our client needs
• Continuous analysis of technological developments in agricultural primary and reinsurance markets in India and other Asian markets
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, government, and other agricultural insurance-related stakeholders (e.g. service providers, claims agencies, CCE agencies, etc.)
• Develop Individual client technology strategies in consultation with the Head of Agriculture and the India Branch CEO
• Active participation in client/ market events (congresses, market events)
• Supporting concept and strategy development within the position\'s area of responsibility
• Work closely with key stakeholders internally and externally to identify trends and new opportunities.
• Play an active role in the servicing of clients.
• Assume full responsibility for the client\'s tech journey.

Education & Experience

Essential :

Graduate/ post-graduate degree in engineering/ meteorological science/ agriculture. Preferred experience in GIS, and meteorological analysis in the agriculture domain. Professional qualifications are an advantage

• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in GIS, meteorological data analysis, big data, AI/ ML for an insurer, reinsurer, or service provider.
• Experience in Data analytics and relevant tools (R, Python) will be an added advantage
• Relevant knowledge of the non-life Insurance business. Reinsurance business understanding will be an added advantage.
• Proven ability to communicate actively, effectively, and succinctly with strong facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Able to engage with and impress C-Level and engage across the levels within the client as well as Munich Re
• Able to work in a dynamic environment and deliver under very tight time pressure
• Willing to travel
