Supervise and coordinate all tool room activities, including tool design, fabrication, maintenance, and storage.
Ensure timely availability of tools for production to minimize downtime.
Maintain and update the tool inventory system.
Lead, train, and supervise toolmakers, machinists, and technicians.
Assign tasks based on production priorities and employee skill levels.
Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of tools and dies.
Ensure all tools and equipment meet quality and safety standards.
Troubleshoot tooling issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Develop and implement standard Operating procedures (SOPs) for the tool room.
Recommend and drive process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
Support new product development with tooling input and prototype support.
Enforce company safety policies and ensure a clean, organized tool room.
Maintain documentation of tool designs, maintenance logs, and tool usage.
Plan budgets for tool procurement, repairs, and replacements.
Proficient in tool & die design, CNC machining, grinding, and CAD/CAM software.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machining operations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Experience with ERP or MRP systems.
Familiarity with IATF or other quality management systems.
Education:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Tool & Die Making, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 13+ years of experience in a tool room
