About the role
This role is accountable forleading the area Technical Services team and developing initiatives focused on delivering measurable value to customers and sustainable revenue to Orica. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a customer-centric approach aligned with Orica's global standards and India market dynamics.
What you will be doing
Adhere to Orica Safe Operating Procedures
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR teams to recruit, onboard, and induct top talents for Technical Services team
Audit competency of TS personnel to comply with Group Standards
Develop and execute Customer Technical Relationship & Engagement Plans
Identify customer needs and business development opportunities
Lead teams to deliver technical projects that provide measurable customer value
Develop technical method statements for tender responses
Support Territory Managers in delivering value-added presentations
Coordinate product application stewardship
Train and accredit customers in Orica courses
Drive TS capability development through structured training programs
Plan resources and optimize workforce allocation
Oversee variable costs and discretionary spend
Promote advanced technology upsells and complex value propositions
What you will bring
Comprehensive expertise in drill and blast applications, design, and planning
Strong commercial knowledge of mining economics, cost structures, and profit mechanisms
Proven leadership and people management skills
Project management capability with successful delivery of technical projects
Excellent communication and influencing skills, including engagement with senior executives
Collaborative working style and ability to build strong relationships
Sales and marketing influencing ability for technical solutions
Broad analytical and problem-solving skills
Sound knowledge of risk management principles
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Track record of delivering external case studies and technical papers/presentations, including original contributions providing competitive advantage
Ability to present advanced technology upsells and complex value propositions
Your qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from a reputable university
Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (preferred)
Minimum 5 years' experience in the mineral resources industry across multiple sites and commodities
