Description:
Amazon Transportation Services is seeking a Manager II, Supply Chain for our Relay Operations Center (ROC) team in Hyderabad, India. ROC is the central command and control center for 'Transportation Execution' across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting NA and EU geographies. It ensures hassle free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. ROC steps in to resolve any issues or adhocs in transportation execution. In addition to support provided for ATS organization, this organization supports externalization of ROC capabilities to external shippers and vendors that rely on ATS fleet and services for their freight movement.
The ideal candidate has a background in supply chain/logistics with excellent leadership and management skills. They will be responsible for understanding the EU Transportation strategy and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements to enhance customer experience cost-effectively. The successful candidate can easily analyze data, has attention to detail, and understands concepts and methods. They should have process knowledge with a proven track record of reducing problems through proactive root cause elimination. This job requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
Key job responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations in Europe with at least 6 direct reports (Ops Managers). This role requires to operate as manager of a team of operations managers. Each operations manager has a team of 12-15 transportation specialists.
• Lead teams and projects, influencing all levels of management to re-engineer business processes and drive change management to complete projects on time
• Analyze, report using tools, portals, and reports; apply a solution-driven approach to systems and processes, using advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word)
• Develop countermeasures and real-time process improvements to address team deficiencies identified through data analysis and observation
• Scope out business and functional requirements for Amazon tech teams to improve existing software systems and tools or create new features/tools
• Escalate problems or data variances to relevant owners and teams and follow through on resolutions
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
• Manage a 24/7 operating environment, providing real-time customer experience by communicating with internal customers (Planning, Fulfillment Centers) and external partners (carriers)

Basic qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, or transportation
• 3+ years of experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL
• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Business (MBA) from a Tier 1 business school
• Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma; experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, and/or distribution environments
• Experience leading projects and programs in an operational setting
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
• Flexibility to work all shifts as needed, supporting Amazon's fulfillment network 24/7
