Reports To: Head - Supply Chain / Operations / Project Head
1. Role Summary
The Manager - Stores oversees the complete stores function including receiving, storage, issuing, reporting, and inventory control. The role ensures uninterrupted material availability, accurate records, compliance with SOPs, and smooth coordination with procurement, finance, and project teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Store Operations
Supervise receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of all materials.
Ensure proper material stacking, housekeeping, and compliance with safety standards.
Implement and monitor FIFO/FEFO for all consumables and materials.
B. Inventory Management
Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/manual systems.
Conduct routine stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Track slow-moving, non-moving, and dead stock.
C. Coordination & Communication
Work with Procurement for timely replenishment.
Coordinate with Project/Production teams to forecast material needs.
Manage vendor interactions for returns, replacements, and documentation.
D. Documentation & Compliance
Prepare GRNs, issue notes, return slips, and all statutory documentation.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, audit observations, and internal controls.
Maintain updated MIS reports (daily/weekly/monthly).
E. Team Management
Lead, train, and supervise storekeepers, assistants, and loaders.
Plan manpower for stores based on project and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate / Diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain
6-12 years of experience in store or warehouse operations
ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Tally) preferred
Strong skills in documentation, communication, reporting, and people management.
