Finance function (including Statutory Accounting & Reporting process) at Yahoo is very critical considering importance of maintaining proper books of accounts, monitoring cash flow, adhering to complex regulations, handling the audit queries and other regulatory reviews. We work together with the Business, Procurement, Legal, Tax, Finance operations (AR & AP), Audit, Treasury, Business Finance and ERP Applications teams to ensure accurate records are maintained in timely manner, contributing to overall success of Yahoo. While timely updating and closing the books, rolling out the accurate reports in timely manner plays a key role in achieving the objectives of this function, adherence to internal control systems, processes and policies, ensuring 100% controllership integrity along with adherence to applicable regulatory compliance is paramount.

We are looking for a potential Yahoo, who has a problem solving attitude. He/She should be a good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. He/She should have understanding of accounting principles, systems and processes, tax and regulatory compliance related matters which is critical for day today activities. Yahoo has strong processes, systems and controls and very high compliance standards. Thorough knowledge of processes including oracle application would be required to perform the tasks efficiently. Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, detail - oriented and prioritize are some of the qualities we are looking for in a potential Yahoo.

Your Day
The potential Yahoo would be part of India Controllership Team reporting to Finance Director in India. This role is Individual Contributor role and the key responsibilities include:

• Assisting Corporate Accounting and Reporting team during monthly closing activities in terms of liaising with various teams and providing necessary inputs, reviewing the key GL accounts, performing variance analysis, preparing monthly cash flow forecast,
• performing/reviewing the reconciliation of key accounts and analyze and resolve the discrepancies if any in the general ledger entries
• Prepare / Review and analyze monthly reports and perform / monitor month end closing activities
• Managing audits - Statutory audit, Internal audit, Tax audit, Transfer Pricing audit, Trust audits, etc.
• Evaluating the implications of various accounting and reporting standards on the various transactions and suggesting proper accounting treatment to the team members
• Continuously observe and recommend process improvements
• Providing payroll inputs to outside service provider and reviewing the final payroll files and reports
• Managing banking relationship and handling intercompany receipts / payments
• Working on strengthening the control over financial reporting and internal processes
• Co-work with Oracle support in designing and developing new management reports
• Assisting in other finance projects as needed
• Providing inputs to Tax team during return filings, assessments and litigations
• Working closely with Treasury team to ensure proper cash flow forecasting and cash management,
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Extracting data from Oracle and preparing various reports for management reference
• Prepare monthly dashboards / presentation to management

You Must Have

• Professional qualification - Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant
• Proven 10+ years of working experience in general accounting and/or auditing in a reputed organization
• Strong understanding of India GAAP accounting and basic knowledge of Indian regulatory and fiscal requirements
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and maintain financial records
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, presentations and proprietary software / ERP packages
• Ability to work in a team and provide necessary guidance when required
• Working knowledge on basic tax and regulatory matters such as Income Tax, Transfer pricing, Withholding tax (TDS), GST, FEMA regulations / RBI guidelines, Company law matters
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to meet stringent timelines
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Strong relationship building skills while working autonomously and pro-actively
