Role Overview

Senior leadership role within the R&D function, responsible for

software architecture, development, and delivery

of new products and features. Acts as a key interface between

Product Management, R&D teams, Operations, and customers

, ensuring scalable, high-quality software solutions.

Core Purpose

Lead end-to-end software development from concept to mass production. Drive technology adoption, architectural excellence, and people capability while ensuring adherence to NPD processes, timelines, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

New Product & Feature Development

Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams to finalize software specifications and obtain GATE sign-offs. Design and develop robust, modular, and scalable software architectures. Study competitor products and emerging technologies to build differentiated solutions. Implement automation and best practices to improve development efficiency and product quality. Ensure thorough review, documentation, and readiness of software deliverables before release.

Design Process & Standards

Ensure strict adherence to NPD processes until product release to mass production. Enforce coding standards, design guidelines, and review mechanisms across teams. Maintain high quality of design documentation and technical artifacts.

Project Management

Prepare and communicate detailed project plans; secure approvals from stakeholders and senior management. Execute and monitor projects to meet delivery timelines, cost targets, and quality benchmarks. Collaborate with Product Management on product roadmaps and promotional content. Manage project costing, risk identification, and mitigation plans.

People & Team Leadership

Build and maintain skill matrices; identify training needs and ensure execution. Mentor, coach, and motivate team members to create a high-performance culture. Encourage knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and collaboration. Conduct structured performance reviews and provide regular feedback.

Customer Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Support application and service teams in resolving customer issues and field concerns. Engage with customers, dealers, and channel partners to understand application needs and provide solutions. Provide inputs for product literature, manuals, videos, and sample applications.

Ideal Candidate Profile

BE/BTech/MCA/MTech in Computer Science, Electronics, or related disciplines. 12-15 years of experience in software development, with strong exposure to

architecture design and team leadership

. Expertise in object-oriented design, C/C++, C#, ASP.NET, multithreading, design patterns, and testing frameworks. Exposure to Python, Android apps, and modern software technologies preferred. Strong project management, communication, and people leadership capabilities.
