We are looking for an Engineering manager to lead our local Data Platform teams in Pune. The ideal candidate would be well versed in Agile practices, is customer focused, likes building teams and networks, has experience in Vendor management and in meeting the demands of enterprise customers.

Practical expertise in managing Platform / Software as a Service initiatives in the industrial sector is a huge plus.

In this role you will be expected to collaborate with a global team. You will work closely with the Data Platforms lead located in Germany.

The position is reporting to the local Campus Manager and is located in Pune, India.

What you will do

• Responsible for the continued development and motivation of a highly productive software development group that consistently delivers exceptional product to our customers \xe2\x80\x93 experience building a team and hiring successfully are critical
• Responsibilities include engineering process (primarily agile), requirements definition, system design, implementation, design verification, test, and release to manufacturing \xe2\x80\x93 \xe2\x80\x9cowner\xe2\x80\x9d of the release and making customers successful
• Functions as a key member of an intra-Business product development team, participating in the creation and execution of product development and delivery strategies \xe2\x80\x93 \xe2\x80\x9cleader\xe2\x80\x9d in the software discipline
• Responsible for multifunctional software group up to 50 employees across multiple locations.
• Recruit, develop, and review, department personnel \xe2\x80\x93 experience building new teams critical
• Establish and maintain budgets, product development plans, schedules and procedures required to accomplish department and business objectives.
• Work with peer managers to develop, implement and continuously improve development processes, ensuring quality products delivered in a timely, predictable manner \xe2\x80\x93 \xe2\x80\x9cmake Rockwell better\xe2\x80\x9d
• Effective hands on management required and able to work across teams effectively

Key methodologies/ technologies in the project

• Knowledge of modern Cloud first technology stacks and technologies
• Experience in DevSecOps, Container managed Services development and operations
• Experience in Developing public Service APIs, Platform Development
• Working knowledge of Optimizing Engineering practices, KPI development and managing towards KPIs
• Experience with industrial sectors, delivering version 1.0 products, cloud first
• Experience on Scrum and SAFe

Minimal qualifications

• BS Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in a management role.

Preferred qualifications

• MS in Engineering is desirable
• Experience in industrial automation software
• Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in product development and/or application design with a minimum of 7 years of technical leadership experience.
