Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps. Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead design and development of new cloud native solutions that are reusable across the enterprise
• Design cloud solutions to support modernizations of existing workloads
• Lead platform engineering: automation, scripting and tooling
• Enabling enterprise transformation to a cloud-first model
• Develop roadmaps for engineering teams CI/CD patterns
• Designing stateless container Pega infrastructure solutions leveraging enterprise 'as a Service' offerings
• Provide cross-segment/cross domain BPM (Business Process Management) and BRE (Business Rules Engine) guidance, technological recommendations and transition strategies that support the design, development and implementation of initiatives based on common delivery and agility for complex and/or multiple projects
• Provide strategic thinking, solutions and roadmaps while driving enterprise recommendations while ensuring adherence to standards and establish standards where they may not yet exist
• Provide ownership for all design recommendations by keeping involved throughout the entire lifecycle
• Serve as a BPM and Pega leader/mentor
• Develops innovative approaches to challenging and complex assignments
• Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
• Ability to Assist with Troubleshooting and Debugging of Complex Systems: must be able to clearly identify root causes of production level architecture issues and make practical suggestions with proof-based technical reasoning
• Ensures compliance with coding standards, UI standards and Corporate standards
• Ensure proper application observability and anaysis: JMeter, HP Load Runner, Pega PDC, ElasticAPM, DynaTrace, Splunk
• Performs code reviews to ensure application quality
• Reviews alert logs to ensure quality standards
• Runs pre-flight and PAL to insure performance and quality
• Deployment of the application
• Can build sub-components of application solutions.
• Assists in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to BA’s, SSA’s, LSAs’, Pega Client Support
• Identifies and proposes PRPC enhancements from trends in requirements
• Supports Performance Testing activities
• Ensures that systems are built for change, are reusable, and maintainable.
• Participates in pre-sales and backlog grooming activities
• Configures the Pega solution during sprints
• Technical Leadership role helps to coordinate and facilitate the technical aspects of the solution
• Works with all groups to help insure best possible design for a solution
• Leads the technical team in gathering and understanding features and user stories
• Leads the design of the application including the framework/implementation layer design, class structure, and ruleset design, as well as application security layer.
• LSEs architect the technical solution, and lead the technical team in sprint activities
• Provides knowledge transfer to the system architects
• Implements integrations between systems and develops automated activities
• Insures adherence to the Pegasystems development guardrails as well as the original design principles.
• Leads and plans collaboration sessions to educate the enterprise engineering community on reusable assets
• On a regular basis, keeps leadership in the loop on critical project issues (process, people, technology)
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of Pega Infrastructure Admin experience or minimum CSSA with 6+ years of experience or LSA with 4+ years
• 6+ years of experience working on software development projects
• 3+ years of Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code experience
• 3+ years of Java, Jenkins, Groovy experience
• Experience with Pega Health Care Frameworks
• Ability to lead and design cloud operations for Pega container infrastructure
• Ability to organize and facilitate discussions with 10+ people (all levels)
• Familiarity with iterative and agile methodologies (i.e. SCRUM)
• Hands-on experience with Pega App Studio
• Engineer highly available Kubernetes systems including Optum HCP offerings
• Expert knowledge of Helm to support reusable infrastructure as code
• Expert in Kafka, Elastic Search, logstash, Hazelcast
• Expertise in Networking Assets: DNS, F5 Network Layer, Ingress Controllers (Ngenix/MetalLB), OIDC, OAuth2, StarGate Proxy
• Expertise in Cloud storage: S3, NAS
• Ability to work with Development Tools: Pega, Atom, Postman, Kubectl, Git
• Familiarity with Container scanning: Twistlock + Prisma, Jfrog Xray
• Working knowledge of the following PRPC design and implementation topics: (Work Object Relationships, Specialization techniques, Reporting, Routing (Skills based), Rule Resolution/Inheritance/Circumstancing, Class Design, Locking , Persistence, Authentication, Agents, Functions/Java API, Services, Connectors
• Working knowledge of PRPC architecture including the following: (J2EE architecture, PRPC Multi-node architecture, JVM, PRPC Caching, Session Management, Ajax in PRPC, Tracer, DB trace)
• Understanding of the supporting tools available to Architects such as the Pega PDN. Must have working knowledge of how to search for documentation on different topics and how to open a support ticket at Pega
• Clear understanding of Pega’s Frameworks and their offerings
• Demonstrates an understanding of both the business process(es) and the technical application of the Framework(s) worked on
• Familiar with DevOps tools: Pega Deployment Manager, Jenkins, Gherkin, Cucumber, GitHub

Preferred Qualification:

• Some Azure Cloud or Google Cloud Platform experience
