Summary / Position overview: -This position is both people management and technical contributor at Forcepoint’s India Innovation Center. The successful candidate will be working with world class engineering building out highly scalable software to support the Forcepoint product portfolio. The Software Engineering Manager role is critical in driving reduced costs in product delivery, ensuring quality, and keeping the product lifecycle on track
Essential Functions

• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to ensure that your team is successful and meets its goals
• Work with engineering managers and development teams to meet organizational goals
• Work with technical support to qualify, prioritize and resolve escalated issues related to the product
• Take an active role in the career development of your team members

• Reduce overhead & costs, optimize processes, and introduce best practices

Preferred Skills and Background

• Thorough knowledge of Network Security (or Cyber Security domain in general)

• Software/Product Design and Development expertise (preferably from C++ or python tech stack, tools, and techniques used to implement quality software products).
• Background working with technical support processes and customer issue resolution
• Excellent software development method, design and implementation skills using agile methodologies
• Strong communication(written and oral) and teamwork behavior within a diverse team environment
• Self-motivated to research/learn new skills and technologies
• Commitment to the broader range of product development goals
• Teamwork at scale, Through with estimation, planning, grooming, project governance etc.
• Build & retain knowledge, develop subject matter expertise and capabilities for engineering teams
• Able to collaborate with global teams

• Good Knowledge in Linux

Desired Skills and Background (strong advantage)

• Hands on at Networking or network related solutions
• Knowledge of Firewall or network security products
• Cyber security - Product engineering background
• AWS Cloud/SaaS exposure
• Background with CI/CD

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 7-10 years of experience developing proxy and network security products
• 4+ years of experience managing a software development team
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM centered organization
