WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:



Role Summary:



We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Development Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of one or more products or services. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who fosters innovation, drives engineering excellence, and ensures high team productivity through Agile practices and modern technology adoption, including AI.



Key Responsibilities:



Team Leadership& Management



Lead and manage a team of 5-10 engineers across development, maintenance, and support functions. You will work in an inspiring and fast paced environment with awesome colleagues designing systems from ideas to running products. Set clear goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and career development support. Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Guide team members within established organizational policies and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Engineering Excellence



Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and secure coding standards. Ensure high-quality deliverables through code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentoring. Apply specialized technical knowledge to solve complex problems and implement scalable solutions.

Agile Delivery& Process Management



Champion Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban to ensure iterative delivery and responsiveness to change. Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management in collaboration with Product Owners and stakeholders. Monitor team velocity, quality metrics, and delivery timelines to ensure project success.

Technology& Innovation



Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, especially in AI, cloud computing, and software architecture. Encourage experimentation and prototyping to evaluate new tools, frameworks, and approaches. Identify opportunities to integrate AI/ML into products and processes to enhance functionality and efficiency.

Product Ownership& Stakeholder Engagement



Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, QA, and Support to ensure end-to-end delivery. Translate business requirements into technical execution plans and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Provide input into product roadmaps, architecture decisions, and long-term planning.

Operational Excellence



Make day-to-day decisions that impact project effectiveness, resource allocation, and delivery outcomes. Analyze ambiguous and complex issues using data-driven approaches and business context. Ensure adherence to operational policies and compliance standards in all development activities.

Productivity& Continuous Improvement



Implement tools and practices that improve team productivity and reduce technical debt. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to team output, quality, and customer satisfaction. Foster a culture of learning through knowledge sharing, training, and retrospectives.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 12+ years of relevant experience in software development, with 2+ years in a leadership role. Proven experience in Agile environments and managing cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud platforms, and AI technologies. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Front-End: JavaScript, React/Angular/Vue, HTML/CSS Back-End: Java, SpringBoot, REST, Node.js, Python, API design (REST/GraphQL) Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB) DevOps: Git, CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions), Docker, Kubernetes Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP; Serverless& Infrastructure as Code Agile Tools: JIRA, Confluence; Scrum/Kanban practices Security: Secure coding, OAuth/JWT, compliance awareness AI& Automation: Basic AI/ML concepts, integration of AI APIs Architecture: Microservices, system design, scalability Collaboration: Code reviews, documentation, mentoring Data& Analytics: Understanding of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); ability to guide data-driven decision-making and integrate analytics into products.
