Position Summary: We are looking for an Software Engineering Manager who is skilled on SOLR and Lucid Works to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of search solutions using Apache Solr and Lucid Works Fusion. As an Engineering Manager, you will work closely with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate, execute and deliver them as effective business features on the Search product function. Your expertise in SOLR and Lucid Works Fusion will also help in providing systems architectural and design leadership to the software development scrum team based out of Bangalore. In addition to that, the role also demands to lead, motivate, mentor and provide ample guidance to the delivery team with respect to technical challenges and calibrate them for performance appraisals. Qualifications Education Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent required. Minimum Experience 12+ years of related experience. Essential Experience / Skills: At least 10 years of experience in Java/J2EE and related technologies with sound understanding of design principles. Proven experience in designing and developing search solutions using Apache SOLR and/or Lucid Works Fusion in the last 3 to 4 years. Solid understanding of search engine technologies, search algorithms, and data structures Experience with indexing, querying, and analyzing large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Familiarity with search relevance models and ranking techniques. Good h ands on experience with Spring Boot Framework, RESTful APIs, and Microservices based architecture Experience as a Tech Lead and ability to provide guidance in designing and architecting critical software applications Experience maintaining and designing applications on AWS Experience with distributed computing, enterprise-wide systems i.e. Service Oriented Architecture Experience with building efficient distributed, scalable, high quality software services, microservices Experience with Docker and Kubernetes Experience with latest monitoring and logging platforms Experience with database technologies and SQL Experience in Agile methodologies, and CI/CD DevOps tools (Jenkins / GitHub Actions, GitHub Co-pilot etc.) Experience with databases Postgres, Oracle, NoSQL DB. Excellent inter-personnel skills as well as experience influencing senior leadership Be flexible to work with some overlapping work overs if needed and attend onshore calls. Regular day to day job responsibilities does not involve travel. Other Preferred Skills: Experience with other search technologies like Elasticsearch or Apache Lucene. Familiarity with machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) concepts. Knowledge of cloud-based search platforms and infrastructure, such as Amazon Cloud Search or Azure Cognitive Search.
