Oracle Cerner is growing and we are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering, for our team at the Bangalore location. As a Manager, of Software Engineering at Oracle Cerner, you will be able to lead, support, and grow multiple project development teams, and create technical vision and strategy for assigned project teams in alignment with the organization's business objectives. In this role, you would need to translate business problems into functional work estimates with inter dependencies across project teams for current and future projects. Partner with the solution owner to build a solution roadmap, and anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges through short-term planning. Propose and lead process improvement projects within and outside the current scope. Additionally, demonstrate broad thought leadership and influence through sharing knowledge outside the team through mentorship, coaching, technical talks, and blogs. Also, lead, direct and review the team's work to achieve operational or functional targets or objectives with a measurable contribution towards the achievement of immediate and short-term results for the team and department. Establish and communicate team goals that support and advance team and department objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress. Understand and explain policies, practices, and procedures within the immediate area of responsibility to stakeholders within and outside of the team. Identify, propose and lead the team- and department-level quality and process improvement initiatives; participate and provide input on strategic initiatives at the department level. Deliver consistent and timely training, guidance, and feedback to encourage and promote associate success and growth through regular developmental conversations and identification of developmental opportunities. Provide primary input and recommendations on staffing and performance decisions for direct reports & manage a team of associates.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

At least 10 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:

At least 2 years of software engineering work experience

At least 8 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of people management, matrix management, project management, or other indirect leadership work experience

Master's degree or equivalent relevant work experience

Hands-on experience in RoR, React, Mysql/PG SQL, CI/CD, Micro Services Architecture

Good to have Java Struts.
