As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of mobile developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality project delivery Oversee the entire mobile application development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation Advocate for and implement continuous improvement practices, including code refactoring and process enhancements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification in Software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Experience in native mobile development for either Android or iOS. Experience leading technology projects. Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in Java and Kotlin for Android or Swift for iOS. Expert in architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture. Proficient in reactive programming using RxJava, Coroutines, and Flow for Android or Combine for iOS. Experience with networking technologies, including RESTful APIs, Retrofit, and OkHttp. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security. Understand mobile applications performance tuning, profiling tools, and optimization techniques. Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical support and knowledge sharing.
