Articulation in policy writing and representation writing with evidence backed public policy thought process Stakeholder mapping of professional associations and key influencers to drive environmental shaping and innovation readiness efforts including Patient Advocacy Groups, NGOs, International bodies etc. in relevant therapy areas. Drive policy advocacy with relevant Government departments/ministries in collaboration with PAGs/NGOs etc., having mutual interest in the area. Drive environment shaping efforts to positively influence (in patients benefit) public policies around disease awareness, diagnosis, treatment protocols for therapy areas relevant to Lilly e.g. Diabetes, Obesity, Cancer etc. Establish and maintain positive relationships with relevant competent authorities especially in MOHFW, Department of Pharmaceuticals, CDSCO etc. Follow, track and manage important industry forums such as OPPI, USIBC, AMCHAM, FICCI to help advance the organization's business interests. Research and monitor centre and state government policy decisions that impact the industry and the company and advise way forward for the company. Ability to work with Third parties, consultants and think-tanks, ensuring the organisational objectives are delivered through the partners

Basic Requirements



6-8 years' prior experience in government affairs / public policy roles.

Ability to write policy papers

, white papers as well as present structured verbal arguments to external stakeholders. The art of creating the first drafts meaty enough for leaders to work with Flair for public affairs/advocacy/ geo-politics and proven commercial mindset which shapes the external environment to ethically drive business strategy and growth. Deep understanding of the systems and healthcare/pharmaceuticals policy development process of the Government across the Central and State levels. Proven ability to master complex regulatory and policy issues, and to translate them into clear and concise messaging of direct relevance to the business (R&D, Regulatory etc.). Experience working in a global organization or within a matrixed structure. A real team player with the ability to interact and collaborate well with people from all business teams and oversee projects from start to finish. Effective

project management skills

, including the ability to prioritize and make appropriate trade off decisions. Strong

analytical skills combined with critical and creative thinking.

Proficiency with IT tools (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Preferences



Bachelor's / Master's degree in public policy, public health, economics, pharmacy or sciences Experience working in the pharmaceutical/ healthcare industry / government.
