Job Description

The role is responsible for managing end-to-end EXIM operations, international and domestic logistics, customs compliance, DGFT activities, and vendor coordination. The position ensures smooth movement of goods across global and domestic supply chains while optimizing cost, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. EXIM & International Business

  • Manage complete export and import documentation as per statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, CHAs, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure adherence to INCO terms, LC terms, shipping instructions, and trade compliance norms.
  • Track shipments and monitor timely clearance at ports.
2. Domestic & International Transportation
  • Plan and execute cost-effective transportation solutions for domestic and overseas shipments.
  • Coordination with transporters, freight carriers, and logistics partners for timely deliveries.
  • Monitor freight rates, negotiate contracts, and optimize transportation costs.
3. Customs, DGFT & Foreign Trade Compliance
  • Handle customs clearance processes including filing of BOE, Shipping Bills, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with DGFT policies and maintain documentation.
  • Maintain the latest knowledge of Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and regulatory updates.
4. Supply Chain Management
  • Good Knowledge of Material planning and purchase.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, planning, and sales teams to ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Support forecasting, demand planning, and inventory control strategies.
  • Work on improving process efficiency across the overall supply chain.
5. Vendor Management & Negotiation
  • Identify, develop, and manage logistics and customs vendors.
  • Conduct rate negotiations, evaluate vendor performance, and drive cost optimization.
  • Build strong working relationships to ensure service quality and reliability.
6. Bonded Warehouse & Inventory Management
  • Oversee operations of customs-bonded warehouses including documentation, compliance, and audit readiness.
Skill Set
1. Strong Understanding of Customs Regulations, Duty Structures & Compliance Procedures
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Indian customs laws, import/export procedures, and tariff classifications. Skilled in interpreting customs notifications, circulars, and Duty Drawback schedules to ensure full compliance. Capable of determining correct duty structures, exemptions, and valuation requirements, while ensuring zero deviation during audits and regulatory inspections.
2. Expertise in Domestic & International Logistics and Transportation
Possesses strong command over global shipping practices, multimodal transportation (air/sea/road), Incoterms, freight negotiations, and logistics route optimization. Adept at coordinating with freight forwarders, shipping lines, CHAs, and transport partners to manage end-to-end logistics while ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery across international and domestic supply chains.
3. Insurance Claim Management
Experienced in managing marine and transit insurance claims including documentation, incident reporting, survey coordination, claim submission, and follow-up with insurers. Ensures proper coverage for all high-value shipments and verifies policy terms to minimize organizational risk and financial loss.
4. Hands-on Experience with Bonded Warehouse Management
Proficient in managing operations within customs-bonded warehouses, ensuring strict compliance with bond registers, audit requirements, and duty deferment regulations.
5. Hands-on Experience in Material Planning & Procurement
Capable of end-to-end procurement activities, purchase order placement, and supplier performance tracking. Strong understanding of demand forecasting, safety stock calculations, replenishment planning, and inventory optimization to support smooth production operations.
6. Strong Negotiation, Vendor Management & Cost Control Skills
Well-versed in developing and managing logistics, procurement, and service vendor relationships.
7. Excellent Communication, Coordination & Analytical Abilities
Possesses clear verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams, government authorities, and external service providers. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, prepare MIS reports, identify gaps, and implement process improvements to enhance overall operational performance.
8. Proficiency in MS Office, SAP/ERP & Digital Tools
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards), PowerPoint, and Word for data analysis and reporting. Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP modules related to logistics, procurement, inventory, and finance, enabling accurate transaction processing and real-time visibility of supply chain activities.
