Overview

Assam greenfield project is being planned by 2026. Subsequently, the Agro Supply Chain activities have scaled up leading to 3-fold growth in next year with regards to the number of districts, vendors & seed sales quantities. The new position is crucial to unlock more opportunities for expansion of CF program in Assam region with a focus of building capability for the field level team, farmers & aggregators as well of the other ecosystem partners (including govt. sponsored organizations) to realize a mutually beneficial association for PepsiCo business growth.
Main Purpose of the Role:Expand Process Grade Potato CF program in Assam and stakeholder engagement in at least 12 key potato growing districts specified by Government of Assam. Ensuring seed sale of 1.8M T to procure 20M T CG potatoes in next year and continue exponential growth in localized sourcing to achieve 50M T CG potatoes from Assam by 2029-2030 Ensuring implementation of PepsiCo Package of Practices (POP) for advantaged varieties to ensure targeted CF volumes. Development of storage capacity up to 20M T by 2025 both traditional and modern storage in the region towards supplying 30% ref capable material Lead the Team of 3rd party agronomists and assist Senior Manager (Agro Procurement) in implementing farmer connect programs Influence the target farmers to adopt our FL portfolio (FC varieties) and participate in our CF program. Liaise with local government officials & administrative officers to ensure business continuity Ensure all SOPs with regards to Potato Quality and storage protocols are followed in the cold stores under the supervision of the respective Manager & coordinate with Agro Stores Manager at Plant towards uninterrupted supplies of Potato- day/week/month wise

Responsibilities

In charge of CF program in Assam Region - Ensure the CF development for PepsiCo independently in the geography under guidance of Senior Manager (Agro)Support annual planning i.e. AOP for the respective territory operation in collaboration with other stakeholders Identify and develop the new farmers/area for the potato multiplication to cater the need of the business Identify the new pockets that would complement / supplement existing plan and increase penetration of program and create opportunities to increase quality and quantity Arrange for timely allocation / distribution of seed to farmers and arrange post planting supervision and POP adherence Ensure chip grade programs and zero spillage of Chip grade potato

Developing Assam as an alternate Seed GeographyCreating proper geography selection and developing farmers' capability for increasing seed volume delivery. Reducing dependence on Punjab and giving cost benefit for locally sourced seed volume.

Ensure identification of key supplier - farmers / traders / FPCs/ cooperatives / association / groups / NGO and sustain relationship with themBuild relationship with each grower and identify potential new groups / association / NGO etc to grow / penetrate and increase farming Maintain ongoing relationship with the farmers, key members of society and government and suppliers.

Ensure discipline amongst partners / suppliers / effective administration and implementation of company policy and standards. Also, maintain relationship with local government officials & administrative officers.Prepare seed sale documentation, POP documentation, buying / procurement documentation, transit documents Set up quality labs and conduct cook test and report buying standards Lead due diligence & audit compliance of all cold stores of the territory. Identification and development of third-party cold store as per PIH norms for seed / chip grade, maintenance of long-term potato stocks as per protocol. Liaison with local government officials - agricultural / horticulture - arrange field visits and increase farmer connect & get third party endorsement, support trainings and capacity building initiatives Daily updating and maintenance of dispatch records for all procurements, contractual jobs for loading /unloading, submission of Mandi Tax

Ensuring identification and thereafter sustaining long storage stores for uninterrupted supplies of Potato for all the plant - month wise / season wise with in quality specificationMaintain seed & Chip Grade S&R% as per AOP in Cold Stores Complete Due diligence & audit compliance of all Cold stores in the region

Drive Agro sustainability agenda of PepsiCo in the Assam region as a wholeBe the SPOC for leading all the sustainability programs across Assam region Support the development of SFP programs in close coordination with identified partners/NGOs/SHGs Drive the Agro capability development agenda for the Agro region - driving the Agri-technological knowledge sharing and competency with various farmer groups/NGOs Drive Pep+ agenda in Assam

Manage team of 3rd party agronomist and lead their capability developmentTransferring knowledge to new members of the team, better on boarding and help them in developing. Drive the team of agronomist to work closely with selected farmers to monitor the crop towards ensuring targeted yield and quality of potatoes

Qualifications

Education:Graduate/ PG / PG Agri / MBA - Marketing / Supply Chain with deep routed knowledge of potato hotspots in Eastern Region

Functional Experience:7-8 years of experience with experience on managing complex supply chain/ commodity procurement * Language: English, Assamese, Bengali, Hindi
