As member of the Rewards team, you shall manage and communicate the Rewards Strategy, ensuring a competitive pay positioning that supports the acquisition and retention of top talent. Contribute to the design, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of the Company\'s compensation and benefits programs. Lead the annual compensation planning cycles including annual salary increase guidelines, performance distributions, and appropriate allocation of incentive plan spend for the assigned countries.

About the role

  • Manage all compensation and benefits programs for assigned client group / countries including salary administration, incentive program administration, job evaluation, salary survey completion, insurance processes, and special projects
  • Research internal comparable and external market data to evaluate management, professional, technical, administrative, and manufacturing jobs at McCain. Summarize research findings & based on grading and pay guidelines, make recommendations to management for review and approval
  • Provide expert level compensation and benefits advice and subject matter expertise to HR Business Partners and business leaders through research, analysis, & consultations
  • Manage the planning and execution of the annual compensation cycle for client groups / countries, including communication, validation and distribution of data, and support to HR Business Partners
  • Lead the annual functional pay review process, including survey management, analysis of market competitiveness, and presentation of recommendations to senior leaders
  • Support any M&A activity by providing compensation due diligence, and compensation plan integration guidance, where applicable
  • Remain up to date on emerging trends and changing legislative requirements that affect the Company\'s Rewards plans. Ensure programs are current with regard to trends, practices, and costs
  • Act as Rewards Subject Matter Expert (SME) by responding to queries and issues raised through the Employee Experience Centre as point of escalation. Diagnose and resolve system and process issues where necessary, recommend procedural modifications to aid in employee self-service and HR Shared Services
  • Support pay equity compliance, fair wage reviews, and other legislated or Board required analyses
  • Participate as a project team member on various Rewards related projects
About you
  • Qualified business professional with 7-10 years in a compensation role with strong knowledge of compensation and benefits practices and principles to positively impact employee performance and business results
  • Strong knowledge of job evaluation methods; and high-level knowledge of salary markets in major countries where McCain operates (South Africa, Canada, US, Continental Europe, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, China, South East Asia, India)
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a keen eye for details
  • Strong verbal/ written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to build trust and sustainable interpersonal relationships with multiple internal/ external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, action oriented with an ability to work under pressure and drive assignments to completion within desired timelines while keeping the team morale high
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills
