That`s why we are always looking for curious minds that see themselves imagining the unimageable with us.JD: PURPOSE OF THE POSITION Ensure that the SAC R&D, Technology, and Innovation Laboratory run to the highest standards of productivity, quality, safety & environmental safety meeting all regulatory compliances. Ensure research activity with high standards and thrust for innovation and suitability in the business. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1: Manage R&D and Synthesis Laboratories Adequately resource products/projects participate in hiring. Monitor and communicate project progress, adhering to timelines. Plan, organize, and assign work schedules and control activities. Contribute to activities like smooth functioning of Lab manage to work within budgets and people management. Ensure strict implementation of safe work practices, including environmental safety. 2: R&D, Technology development, Review & Transfer Literature survey for synthetic routes using most modern/AI methods for assigned projects/chemistries. Assess new product candidates and accompanying literature. Liaise with academics and companies to develop technology/assist in technology transfer into the company, where appropriate. Analyze all aspects of technology transfer and its feasibility on a larger scale. Trouble-shoot, where required. Collaborate with external and internal teams (BD/purchase/QC/QA/Packaging/Shipment etc.), identify, design, and develop projects/ technologies and products, and their smooth deliveries. Provide technical support to other functions as requested. 3: Digital, Automation, and Sustainability (DAS) Promote the use of digital technologies, automation, and sustainability in the area of the operation, where appropriate. Plan strategies, projects, and design action plan to deliver on DAS targets. 4 : Continuous Process Improvement Identify and establish process improvement and best practice initiatives to improve performance. Maintain all documentation current. Coach and develop team members in applying process improvement and total quality model to their work. Participate and lead, as appropriate, process improvement initiatives and quality initiatives in cross-functional areas. 5: People and Talent Recommend, hire skilled talent, identify training and development needs for them, and insure their effective implementation. Plan and organize employee engagement and team building sessions, propose and effectively implement Skill enhancement trainings and initiatives. Define and monitor key performance indicators. Ensure timely and effective completion of employee performance appraisal as per company policy. 6: Regulatory compliance Understand and follow process & procedures laid down in ISO and comply with our companyglobal policies and standards. Participate effectively and collaborate with internal teams to make sure that all regulatory compliance is met. Participate actively in all external and internal audits, visits, where appropriate. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education: Preferably Ph. D/Postdoc in Synthetic Organic/Medicinal Chemistry. Knowledge of designing new chemistries/products, developing novel synthetic methodologies, process research and development with relevant experience. Experience: More than 10 Years of relevant experience (after Ph.D.), preferably in R&D, Technology Development, from a laboratory of repute, a good pharmaceutical/fine chemical company. Knowledge and Skills: Strong technical knowledge, particularly in field of synthetic organic chemistry, synthetic route design, new product introduction with good hands-on laboratory skills. Broad knowledge of analytical techniques, and instrumental methods of analysis, including GC, HPLC, NMR, MS, IR etc. & interpretation of results. Ability to manage projects, including broad understanding of financials & variance analysis. Scientific research planning and problem-solving skills, ability to survey, understand current literature and patents, their impact on our areas. Good computational skills and exposure to Laboratory Information Management, NPI and SAP systems. Leadership skills, effective communication of messages from top management to subordinates, ability to coordinate and manage highly skilled and diversified team of scientists. Clarity of thought, analytical ability. Strong communication & presentation skills are desirable. Technical writing skills, writing standard operating procedures and other similar documentation. Team building skills, including mentoring, motivating, coaching, performance assessment. Excellent understanding of work, passion for safe work procedures and practices.
