I. Responsibility:
Establish, implement, and monitor the quality control systems and procedures across all stages of plywood manufacturing.
Ensure adherence to quality standards for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods, specific to the plywood industry.
Supervise routine testing of plywood parameters (e.g., bonding strength, thickness, moisture content, formaldehyde emissions, etc.).
Conduct in-process inspections and final quality checks to prevent rework, wastage, or customer complaints.
Investigate non-conformities and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Train production and QC staff on quality awareness, process control, and quality standards specific to plywood and panel products.
Manage and maintain quality-related certifications like ISO 9001, ISI (BIS certification for plywood standards like IS:303, IS:710), FSC/PEFC, CARB/EPA (for emission standards), etc.
Prepare documentation and coordinate with certification bodies for external and surveillance audits.
Ensure all records, SOPs, and process documents are audit-ready and compliant with certification requirements.
Develop and monitor quality KPIs, rejection trends, and customer feedback reports to drive improvement.
Collaborate with the R&D or technical team to evaluate new adhesives, treatments, or raw materials for quality performance.
Ensure the calibration and maintenance of all quality testing equipment and measuring instruments.
Work closely with the procurement team to ensure supplier quality of timber, adhesives, and other raw materials.
Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Assurance (QA) techniques on the shop floor.
II. Review customer complaints, conduct failure analysis, and implement field quality improvement actions.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety norms related to quality control (e.g., emission levels, VOC compliance).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean practices) within the quality function.
Prepare and present periodic quality review reports to the management highlighting plant quality performance.
Keep abreast with national and international quality standards relevant to plywood and panel products.
III. Act as the management representative for all quality-related certifications and regulatory inspections.
IV. Coordinate with external certification bodies and facilitate ISO 9001:2015 audits (certification, surveillance, and recertification).
V. Train shop floor, QC, and cross-functional teams on quality standards, ISO 9001 awareness, and product specifications.
VI. ISO 9001:2015 documentation maintaining according to QMS.
