Job Overview: The Manager of Project Engineering is responsible for managing the engineering scope of a McDermott project and establishing and implementing project procedures to ensure deliverables meet quality and technical content requirements by contract documents. They will manage the technical execution to support the business considerations established for the project and are responsible for the administration and technical management of the department. The Manager of Project Engineering is accountable for assigning staffing for the Project Engineering positions on projects and proposals.
Reports to Senior Manager - Project Engineering, Liaise with Lead center as a part of MOPEX execution, Project Engineers, Lead center PEM, Project Director/Manager, Discipline Lead Engineers, Discipline Managers, Construction/Fabrication team, Project Controls, Finance, Proposals and Supervises Project Engineering Team.



Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Instill and promote a \xe2\x80\x9cSafety as a Value\xe2\x80\x9d culture
• Administrative and technical management of the Project Engineering Department:
  • Establish a budget and salary plan for the department
  • Identify and recruit staff for Project Engineering positions
  • Maintain staffing levels appropriate to the projected workload
  • Provide leadership and training for the professional development of staff
  • Identify and correct performance gaps
  • Maintain Company processes and procedures related to Project Execution
• Allocate resources to provide quality, on-time, and cost-effective deliverables for projects and proposals
• Responsible for the integrity of the work produced
• Responsible for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control
• Ensure work is being coordinated with the other departments, offices, fabrication, and construction to meet project requirements
• Ensure proactive and effective management of change
• Monitor project performance and provide input and support as required
• Participate in monthly Project Reviews
• Execute Project Engineering Assessment (PEA) for Project Engineering
• Support proposal development
• Support the Lessons Learned process and continuous improvement initiatives of the company

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline
• Minimum 15 years of Project Engineering and/or Engineering Management experience
• Preferably Registered Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable
• Demonstrate a broad technical knowledge of detailed design engineering codes and standards
• Familiar with detailed engineering and design work procedures and processes
• Able to read and understand contractual documentation
• Able to effectively communicate with and lead engineers and non-engineers
• Field assignment experience
• Experience in International Projects
• Experience with multi-office (MOPEX) execution
• Experience in execution as part of a Joint Venture or Consortium Group
• Experience developing proposals and contractual documentation
• Experience acting in a PMT role for projects
• Experience on revamp (Brownfield) and grassroots (Greenfield) projects
