Job Description

The

Manager - Production (Motors & BMC)

will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production operations of

motor assembly lines and Bulk Moulding Compound (BMC) moulding operations

at the AIPL Chakan plant. The role involves ensuring adherence to production targets, quality standards, and safety norms while driving process efficiency, team performance, and continuous improvement. The incumbent will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless daily operations and contribute to capacity enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

Plan, monitor, and control daily production activities for

motor assembly

and

BMC moulding lines

, ensuring output as per defined QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) parameters. Prepare and execute

production schedules

to meet demand forecasts and customer requirements. Optimize

manpower, material, and machine utilization

to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Ensure adherence to

process parameters

and production SOPs across all workstations. Drive operational excellence by implementing

Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S

practices on the shop floor. Review daily production performance and initiate corrective actions for deviations or bottlenecks.

Quality & Process Control

Ensure all products meet

quality and reliability standards

through strict in-process and end-of-line inspections. Work closely with the

Quality Assurance team

to address process defects, rejections, and drive CAPA implementation. Support process engineers in

standardization of work methods

and continuous process improvement.

Team Leadership & Training

Lead a team of

production supervisors, operators, and technicians

; drive accountability and performance. Plan and monitor shift operations to ensure optimal line output. Foster a culture of

discipline, safety, and teamwork

on the shop floor. Identify skill gaps and coordinate training for operators and technicians.

Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

Coordinate with the

maintenance and utilities teams

to ensure machine uptime and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules. Support installation, commissioning, and validation of

new machines, moulds, and automation systems

. Ensure effective maintenance of BMC moulding presses and motor assembly equipment.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

Monitor and report

production KPIs

(OEE, yield, rework, scrap, downtime) on a regular basis. Drive

cost reduction and productivity improvement

initiatives through process optimization and waste elimination. Support

NPI and engineering change implementation

by coordinating with R&D and Process Engineering teams. Maintain compliance with

safety, ISO, and environmental standards

within the production area.
